Michael Ashton

Michael Ashton joined Abry in 2008. Mike is focused on Abry’s senior debt funds. He is responsible for initiating and overseeing investments in Abry’s bank loan funds. Prior to joining Abry, Mike was a senior credit analyst and portfolio manager with the bank loan investment team at Eaton Vance. Prior to joining Eaton Vance, he held senior credit analyst positions with Fortis Investments and Hartford Investment Management, where he covered the broadcasting, cable television, telecommunications, and technology services sectors. Prior to moving into asset management, Michael held various senior roles with Barclays Capital and BankBoston. He received his MBA and BA from the University of Rhode Island.

Anders Bjork

Anders Bjork

Anders Bjork joined Abry in 2017. Anders is responsible for sourcing and leading transactions for Abry’s senior equity and heritage funds. His areas of focus include business and information services, telecommunications, marketing and advertising technology, and software. Prior to joining Abry, he worked for investment firms Fir Tree Partners, Guggenheim Partners and VSS. Previously, he led corporate development at information services company IHS Markit. He also represented the Swedish National team and played professionally in the American Hockey League. Anders holds a B.S., with honors, from the University of Denver, an M.S.F. from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver, and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

John Connor

John Connor joined Abry in 2007. John is the portfolio manager of Abry’s senior debt fund, with responsibility for initiating investments, portfolio management and managing the third party financing relationships. Prior to joining Abry, John was a Sr. Vice President at Hartford Investment Management Company, where he launched and managed a $5B bank loan mutual fund. John has extensive previous experience in both investment management and leveraged finance. He received an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business, was a cum laude graduate of Columbia University, and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Azra Kanji

Azra Kanji

Partner

Azra Kanji joined Abry in March of 2003. She has originated, supervised and sold numerous companies. Areas of focus have included media and telecommunications investments as well as investments in the financial services, travel, compliance, subscription information, and marketing services businesses. Prior to joining Abry, Azra was a member of the media and communications group at Goldman Sachs where she served in the Communications, Media, and Entertainment group. Azra is a graduate of Duke University.

Matt Lapides

Matt Lapides joined Abry in 2008. Matt focuses on Abry’s senior debt funds. He is responsible for initiating and overseeing investments in Abry’s bank loan funds. Matt has over twenty years of experience in investing in, operating, and financing communications companies. Prior to joining Abry, Matt was the senior analyst responsible for John Hancock Financial Services, Inc.’s media and communications portfolio. Before John Hancock, Matt was Vice President – Finance for Diveo Broadband Networks, Inc. He began his career in the Global Investment Banking division of Chase Securities, Inc. Matt is a graduate of Colby College.

Rob MacInnis

Rob MacInnis

Rob MacInnis joined Abry in 1998. He is responsible for working with portfolio companies to improve operations and support management teams. He has worked with numerous Abry portfolio companies in healthcare IT, insurance services, business services and education. Prior to joining Abry, Rob was associated with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was a senior manager in the Merger and Acquisition Group. Rob received an MBA summa cum laude from Boston University and is a summa cum laude graduate of Merrimack College.

Nicolas Massard

Nicolas Massard joined Abry in 2010. Nicolas is focused on Abry’s senior equity funds. He has originated, supervised and sold numerous investments in Abry’s targeted sectors. Areas of focus include communications, data centers, software and information services. Prior to joining Abry, Nicolas worked for the investment firms Spectrum Equity Investors and Continuum Group as well as in the investment banking divisions of Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers in London. Nicolas is a graduate of HEC Paris.

Rob Nicewicz joined Abry in 2009. He has evaluated, overseen, financed, and sold numerous companies in Abry’s targeted sectors. Rob’s area of focus have included communications, machine-to-machine, healthcare IT and data centers. Prior to joining Abry, Rob was a member of  the Technology, Telecom & Digital Media group of Harris Williams & Co.  Rob graduated magna cum laude from Babson College.

Nathan Ott joined Abry in 2012. He has diligenced, supervised, financed and sold numerous companies in Abry’s targeted sectors. Nathan’s areas of focus include insurance services, healthcare service, business services and communications. Prior to joining Abry, Nathan was at M|C Partners where he was involved in a variety of media, communications and business services private equity investments. Previously, he was an investment banking analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Telecom, Media and Technology group. Nathan graduated from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

Bob joined Abry in 2007. He is focused on leading Abry’s sourcing efforts in North America for all Abry fund strategies. Prior to joining Abry, Mr. Pan was an investment banking analyst in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group of UBS Investment Bank. Mr. Pan is a graduate of Duke University.
