Lycos launches new real estate destination powered by Network Communications
Waltham, Mass (September 25, 2003) - Terra Lycos (NASDAQ: TRLY and
Madrid Exchange: TRR), the global Internet Group, today announced the
launch of a new Lycos Real Estate, http://realestate.lycos.com,
featuring one of the most comprehensive home listing sites on the Web
through a new agreement with Network Communications, Inc. ("NCI"), a
leading publisher and provider of printed and online real estate
information and advertising in North America. Through this agreement,
millions of Lycos Network users will have access to the hundreds of
thousands of homes and apartments found on NCI's "Living Choices" from
a dedicated link on the Lycos.com homepage as well as from numerous
links across the network.
On Lycos Real Estate, users can search for a new home or apartment
by location down to specific neighborhoods and sort by price or other
features to make the searching process easier and faster. Featured
listings in most locations include the outstanding properties presented
in NCI's 500 different real estate magazines including The Real Estate
Book, Unique Homes, Enclave, Apartment Finder, Mature Living Choices
and New Home Finder.
"Home buying across the country continues to
be one of the bright spots in the economy, and we are excited to add
the new Lycos Real Estate destination to not only provide our users
with a great resource as they go through the home buying process, but
also to give advertisers a great place to put their messages in front
of some of the best qualified targets they could ask for," said Charles
Theiss, vice president of sales and operations for Terra Lycos.
"This
new destination on Lycos expands the reach of our magazines online and
delivers additional exposure to our home and apartment advertisers."
said Daniel McCarthy, President & CEO of Network
Communications. "We are pleased to be providing our quality content to
the growing Lycos audience."
"The home or apartment search is an
exciting time for consumers; this agreement makes that experience
easier and expands our reach into this group of targeted consumers,"
said Glenn Goad, Senior Vice President of NCI's eBusiness. "This
additional online distribution strengthens our position as a leading
multimedia (in-print and online) marketing solution for our
advertisers."
